    When John Cusaks character "Mike Enslin's" daughter died , he became obsessed with the paranormal. After years of writing, and investigating the paranormal, he has found nothing. Mike is cynical, and is ready to give up his search for evidence of the paranormal, until he hears of a possible subject for his new book - Room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel in New York City. Mike is determined to prove that the rumours surrounding the room are fakes by staying in the room himself. Hotel manager Mr Olin ( Samuel L Jackson ) , tries to warn him off , even bribe him not to go into the room, but Mike isdetermined, and will not be swayed. That is until Room 1408 shows him its true nature ... I do not normally watch Horror/Thriller movies, they have long ago lost the ability to keep my attention, usually too much gore and cheesy thrills you expect to happen, but I highly recommend this movie to anyone. Room 1408 lives up to Samuel Jacksons quote..."Its an evil f*cking room"
