    A computer 2000 years old?



    What you're looking at in this picture is a 3d rendered representation of possibly the world's oldest computer. This device known as the 'Antikythera Mechanism' was discovered over 100 years ago in a roman shipwreck.

    "Using advanced imaging techniques, an Anglo-Greek team probed the remaining fragments of the complex geared device.

    The results, published in the journal Nature, show it could have been used to predict solar and lunar eclipses.

    The elaborate arrangement of bronze gears may also have displayed planetary information. "

    Facinating stuff, just goes to show, regardless of how much we think we know about what things used to be like, something will come along and show how little we really know...!
