Q: Why is UPA here?
A: UPA is here to provide a framework for pilots to meet and play games using the LucasArts titles X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance and the Microsoft Games Crimson Skies and MechWarrior 4 on the MSN Internet Gaming Zone

Q: I have a question, and it's not answered below. Who can I ask?
In UPA we have a Chain of Command (CoC). You should follow the CoC in all cases when you do not know the answer to a question or are unsure. The CoC is detailed in the Rules document.

Q: I have a question concerning the Message Boards, who can I ask?
A: Have you tried the Message Board FAQ? It should answer the most common questions, if not, follow the CoC to get the question answered.

Q: How can I join?
A: Just go to the Recruiting Office. It's really simple.

Q: What's the Golden X-Wing Award, and when will it be voted for?
A: In the past the Golden X-Wing Award has been used for the anniversary of UPA. It decorated pilots, who have proven themselves, not only for good skills and activity, but also for comrady, good squad-website design, etc. For the future use, no decision has been made regarding that. When one is made, it will be promptly announced on the Official Announcement MB.

Q: Will UPA participate in the event xyz?
A: UPA participates in XvT- and XWA WoW on regular basis. All other events are announced on the Official Announcement MB. If the event is not being announced, we're not going to participate.

Q: When will the awards for the event xyz be posted?
A: First of all, all disputes have to be settled. Then you have to wait for the Awards Administrator to post the awards. In the past, this has taken 2-5 days after the event has officially ended.

Q: When does the event xyz start?
A: If it's an XvT-Event, then check out the XvT-Upcoming BSC-Events.
If it's an XWA-Event, then check out the XWA-Upcoming BSC-Events
CSkies-Events will be announced on the CSkies-Events-Page
and MW4-Events will be posted on the MW4-BSC-War-Page

Q: Where's UPA_XYZ? Has anyone seen him/her lately?
A: If you are trying to contact a pilot try e-mailing him/her using the address in his bio or if he/she uses ICQ/AOL/IM. Ask the pilot's CO. Wait three or four days. Only use the MB as a last resort

Q: How can I make the different smileys on the UPA Message Boards?
A: Check out the emoticons section on the Message Board FAQ for that.

Q: Are there any easter-eggs on this site?
A: There are a couple of hidden scripts. Here are some hints:
a) One script is called 'displaytester.asp'. Each member has one ID
b) If you wanted to know the birthdays of UPA's members, there's a script which is called similar to a)
c) 'gamestats' will show some statistics of how many people own the respective games, split into Timezones.

Q: I'm having problem playing games on the Zone! I suspect it is because of my router. Can you help?
A: If it is because of your router, go to this webpage for assistance:

Q: I do not know how to sign up for UPA at BattleStats. What do I have to do for it ?
A: BattleStats (BSC) is one of the leagues where the UPA is competing against other clubs.
In order to play for UPA in these leagues you need to have a accout there and join one of the UPA clubs.
Every wing has his own club there, so check that you are joining the right club.
