Welcome Pilot. If you'd like some information about the UPA recruiting process you're in the right place.
This system has been designed to help recruit new pilots into UPA with three objectives in mind:
- To ease the burden of recruiting on our current membership by providing an automated system which will handle record keeping and mundane repetitive tasks.
- To provide the new recruited candidate both insight into our club's orginization and an opportunity to meet some new friends.
- And to provide a stable, uniform, secure method for entrance into the club itself.
Recruitment itself consists of three steps outlined below
- Sign Up
Candidates must first sign up on our Recruitment Sign Up Page. To become a recruit candidate you will be asked to fill out a form that details s few pieces of information about you including your email address. Upon signing up a candidate will be emailed a password to use with their account. Each recruit will need to confirm their registration in the recruitment database by filling out a web form with the password they receive. Once this has been done the Pilot will be considered a Recruit, and be listed on the Recruit roster.
- Rules Test
All UPA pilots are required to learn and follow the UPA Rules and Regs. Upon sign up each recruit candidate will be directed to the Rules and Regs document and told to read them thoroughly. To insure that a Recruit has made an effort to do this, they will be required to take a short web formed based mutiple choice test.
- Accepted by his CO's
The future wing commander (WC) and squad leader (SL) has to accept the recruit as new member in their group.
Upon the completion of these three steps a recruit will become a full Member of UPA with all the rights and privileges therein. They will be given the rank of Cadet, added to the Pilots Roster, and assigned to a squad in the following order of preference:
- Squad of the recruiting member if relevant and not full
- Open Squad with the least number of Pilots in the recruiter's wing if relevant and not full
- Open Squad with the least number of Pilots in one of the other wings
A recruit could possibly complete all three of these steps in as little as an hour. However all candidates will be given a seven day period from the time they confirm their sign up to complete the entire process. Should a recruit be unable to do so in this time frame their record will be wiped from the database and they will have to start over.
It is our hope that this system is both clear and easy to follow. Should you have any questions please email us at
